If you know me at all, you know I am total girly girl. I love all things sparkly, ruffly, lace-y, vintage-y & tulle-y. I love looking at wedding gowns. There are so many TO DIE for dresses out there… I mean to die for!!!! The kind that make you go “ooooo, aaaaaahh”. The kind that make your jaw drop. I am always so inspired by talent in the artist world, and there are so many gown designers that are constantly blowing my mind. I wanted to share a few of my favorites I have seen recently to give you a little inspiration if you are a bride still looking for her perfect gown. I am here to remind you that you that your wedding is YOUR wedding and it should be unique just like you are. Don’t be afraid to step outside the box when it comes to planning your wedding or choosing a wedding gown. I hope these gowns inspire you and give you some fun ideas. : )

Let’s start with one of my favorite designers, Elie Saab. OMG, this designer is an absolute genius! His talent inspires me to no end. And his gowns… well there are no words. Except one: breathtaking! And his website is soooo romantic and dreamy.

Oh Monique Lhuiller… your soft and dreamy gowns make me want to get married just so I can wear something of yours!

Sarah Seven – I love these incredibly romantic short dresses that would just photograph beautifully and is something for the bride who loves simplicity.

Vera Wang — enough said.

Looking for an actual vintage wedding dress? I LOVE this website, MillCrest Vintage. They sell real vintage wedding gowns and the prices are super affordable.

Another favorite: Claire Pettibone. OMG, this designer’s gowns are something an angel in Heaven could wear. I am IN LOVE with her designs. SIIIIIIIIGH.

And last but not least, Romona Keveza. Love all the ruffles!!

Skye and Scott are truly such a beautiful couple. I have enjoyed getting to know them from the beginning of their wedding planning up until now. After shooting their beautiful engagement photos in a cotton field, I fell in love with these two and have been so excited to document all of the special moments leading up until the big day… including Skye’s bridal shoot. We have had so much fun every time we have spent time together and I am truly honored to say I was able to be their photographer. The wedding day was perfect, as everything went off without a hitch. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their wedding day.

Skye & Scott, thank you for so so uber fabulous in every way. And thank you for having me to be your photographer. I don’t take it lightly. I am so blessed to have been a part of this time in your life. XO!!!

So I have to start this post with one of my favorite elements of Skye’s wedding. THE SHOES. O.M.G. I love them. Skye has really great taste and these shoes prove it. They may just be the prettiest shoes ever. And the blush color is just to DIE for.

This idea was just TOO CUTE!!

Another idea I LOVED… this circular style seating. Super fabulous and unique.

Married!!

LOVE this shot Deirdre got.

Skye surprised Scott with a boudoir album from her shoot at my studio The Boudoir Vixen. I think his face says it all. ; )

Love.

Father daughter dance.

Mother son dance.

I mean, they are just too cute.

To end the night I played with the bridesmaids and sparklers. : )

Kayla is a doll. Truly one of the sweetest clients I have had. From day one, she has been nothing but a patch of sunshine in my life. Always easy to work with and she always has had something incredibly encouraging and uplifting to say to me. I just adore her and feel so lucky to have been her photographer for so many special moments in her life. You may remember Kayla and Blake’s awesome engagement shoot that we incorporated their dirtbikes into. You can see those photos here. I still just LOVE that shoot!!! The big day finally arrived and the bride and groom could not have been more excited to finally be united as one. They have been together for many many years and to finally tie the knot was just another step in their beautiful story.

Thank you Kayla and Blake for everything. But mostly for being so wonderful to me!!! HUGGGSSSS!

They met their her senior year in high school. She was new at this particular school and Chase was sweet enough to show her around and well… you guessed it, the rest is history! Ashley said she was hooked ever since. Chase definitely played his cards well and now years later they are tying the knot!! We pranced around on a hot summer day recently to document this couple’s love for each other and I love what we got.

Ashley and Chase, thanks for being so super easy to work with!!! I can’t wait for the big day next spring!! xo

Kayla has been such an amazing client of mine from day one. She is SUPER easy to work with and has such a fun spirit about her. I absolutely just adore her!! Thank you Kayla for being such an angel! I heart you!!

A little over a year ago, I decided to be brave, take a leap of faith, put myself out there… and hire an assistant. (see the blog post about “Louise” here.) My business grew faster than I could keep up. When I went into business for myself over 2 years ago, I knew one day I would need to hire someone to help me, but I NEVER knew the need would come so soon. It was even scarier because I made this decision at the exact same time I made the decision to get a studio for The Boudoir Vixen, my boudoir company. That in itself was a huge financial commitment, so the thought of asking someone to come and depend on me for their financial income was more than frightening. But I knew I could not live without either anymore. I needed both the studio and the assistant and I decided to go for it… no turning back. I knew in my heart it was what God wanted me to do so I trusted him. Exactly a year ago I made one of the scariest decisions of my life… but also one of the greatest.

The next scary part was once I had put the word out I was looking for someone, how was I ever going to KNOW who was the right gal for the job? SCA—RY. I received tons of applications and interviewed a few. But there was one that definitely stood out in my mind and heart… her name was Deirdre. She was actually one of my brides, who had only been married a few weeks before. The thought of a past client AND newlywed wanting to work for me and relying on me for stability was almost too scary for me, but Deirdre impressed me more than once with everything she said and did to get the job. I knew she was exactly who I was looking for. My Louise. I went back and re-read my blog post for when I decided to hire someone and took this from it:

“Looking for: Someone who will also  become someone I consider my friend and not just my employee. The most important thing to  me is that I click with my assistant and that they dream big, see the  world with hope and have a very positive attitude on life.”

I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Deirdre fits that mold to a T. She is truly a GODSEND in my life. I could use the words blessed, thankful, happy, thrilled, etc over and over to describe how I feel by having her in my life, but it just wouldn’t be enough. She is not only an incredibly hard worker, incredibly smart, talented and all around amazing, but she is a great friend. She has helped me in more ways than one and I thank God every day that he sent her into my life. I am SO happy I listened to my heart when I chose Deirdre. She has exceeded my expectations and more and I am so very lucky to have her in my life and as a part of my business.

Deirdre, thank you for being not only my first, but the very BEST assistant a girl could ever hope for. I am so so so thankful for everything you do on a daily basis. You take care of me and my business better than I could have ever imagined and I’m truly lucky just to know you. : ) I look forward to sharing many more laughs and adventures with you.

We had dinner the other night & I thought it would be cute to imitate the photo from sex & the city that I posted in my first “Louise” post. Yes, we are dorks.

I’ve been shooting weddings for a while now but I feel like in the last two years, I have really and truly grown as a photographer and fallen even more in love with it. I am SO SO blessed that in the past 2 years I have shot exactly FIFTY weddings! That just blows my mind and is so completely humbling in every way. It is always incredibly flattering when I am hired by two people in love to photograph their wedding. I mean, there are really no words how grateful I am. I know what a HUGE, GINORMOUS deal it is to choose a photographer for your wedding and I do not take any of my clients lightly. I decided I wanted to go through the past 2 years of weddings and choose my favorite image from each of their weddings. I have posted them below. It was so much fun to go through each one and re-live the memories from each one. They have all been so unique and wonderful in their own way and I am just SO SO SO SO darn lucky… no, I am blessed. TREMENDOUSLY.

To each of my clients, I could never thank each of you enough times to express how grateful I am for allowing me to be a part of the best day of your life. I will never forget any of you.

To God, thank you for your many blessings… I am nothing without your love.
