Vas & Julia: {wedding} 1 of 3

After spending several days with Julia and Vas, it’s evident to me, and the world, that these two were made for each other. Julia’s spirit, drive and the way she makes you feel when you’re around her… are just a few of the things Vas told me that he adores about the woman of his dreams. They met 7 years ago through friends at school and have been in love ever since. Vas has taken Julia all over the world to see places like Italy, Spain, Germany, the Caribbean and even proposed to her under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Is he romantic or what?! As I got to spend some time with them, I began to grow infatuated with them not only as individuals, but as a couple. I feel truly honored and blessed to have been given the opportunity to know such beautiful people, inside and out. I have AMAZING clients, who I consider friends… how did I get so lucky?

Vas and Julia’s wedding was held in Negril, Jamaica. I will be blogging their event in parts because I picked out way too many favorites to post all at once.

I was in LOVE with her mermaid style wedding gown. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT.

It started POURING about 45 min before the ceremony, and lasted for about 45 minutes. In Negril, it does that almost every afternoon – so it wasn’t a surprise. We all kept our fingers crossed and said a few prayers believing it was going to pass. Well, it did, YAY! Only making the ceremony start 30 minutes late… everyone was relieved it passed. It actually was a blessing in disguise because it ended up making a beautiful sunset, which is what Negril is actually famous for. You’ll see photos of that later.

As Julia finished up, I came downstairs to see what Vas was up to. My best friend and second shooter, Michael, captured this shot of Vas as he waited for his bride-to-be.

They opted to do a “First Look” right before the ceremony. I totally dig when my couples decide to do this because it not only gives me the opportunity to capture some really amazing and emotional pictures, but it allows the bride and groom to share such an intimate and special moment of seeing each other in private right before they commit to each other forever in front of a crowd.

Michael got this shot of Vas as Julia made her way down the stairs.
