Megan + Daniel :: Wedding

It’s been exactly 2 weeks to date since I have done a blog post. SHAME SHAME SHAME on me. I seriously am slapping myself. UGH. I really and truly have no excuses. Simply, the blog took a hike to the bottom of my priority list the last 2 weeks and I am a very bad girl for allowing that to happen! NO MORE. I’m totally making up for it today by posting a wedding I shot 2 weeks ago. You may remember Megan and Daniel from their engagement shoot (which you can see here). I tell a lot of their story on that post about how they have known each other most of their lives. I love that these 2 best friends, became husband and wife, and I got to witness it. I am always so humbled at every single wedding. It never amazes me the honor I feel being a part of SUCH a huge occasion. I mean really… I realize a wedding is one of the most important and significant days of a person’s life. It still blows my mind that I am so blessed to be a part of so many of those amazing memories. : )

It was a PERFECT day for a wedding. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Everything went off without a hitch and I enjoyed every moment. Below are a few of my favorites from their day.

Megan and Daniel thank you so much for being so kind, generous and wonderful in every way. I hope with all of my heart you cherish your wedding photographs forever. xo

You already know what’s coming…. THE FIRST LOOK! YES. Now, I will be honest here… it took some convincing on Daniel’s part to get him to agree to the First Look. In my experience, it’s generally the grooms, not the brides, who are hesitant to the idea of a First Look. Why is that you ask? Well, I will tell you. A man is told his WHOLE LIFE, no trained, that on the day of his wedding he is not allowed to see his bride whatsoever until she walks down the aisle. Like, IT’S FORBIDDEN. It’s made to be this HUGE deal, aka tradition, that when someone like me or anyone suggests no longer abiding by this “rule/tradition”, the groom instantly feels like he would be committing a crime to go along with this. But after thinking about it logically, Daniel knew we wouldn’t have any light after the wedding to capture those gorgeous shots… not to mention, he would be able to get to the reception much sooner. (That’s the part that always appeals to the guys! “wait, less photos after the ceremony? YES!”) I can honestly say, I know Megan and Daniel are so glad they did the FL. I captured this shot of Megan walking up…

Deirdre got this angle…

YAY!

The First Look is truly a special and intimate moment you wouldn’t be able to share on your wedding day without it.

After a few sweet words and laughs were exchanged, we took the time to snap some photos…

Hands down, favorite shot of the day. It’s magical.

We were able to get all the bridal party photos out of the way.

As soon as the ceremony was over we snapped a few family photos…

…the the couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife.

After a wonderful night of dancing and spending time with loved ones, the couple said their goodbye!

And to end this post, I will leave you with a sneak peek of an exciting announcement coming NEXT WEEK!!!! Stay tuned. ; )
