I found my Louise.

A little over a year ago, I decided to be brave, take a leap of faith, put myself out there… and hire an assistant. (see the blog post about “Louise” here.) My business grew faster than I could keep up. When I went into business for myself over 2 years ago, I knew one day I would need to hire someone to help me, but I NEVER knew the need would come so soon. It was even scarier because I made this decision at the exact same time I made the decision to get a studio for The Boudoir Vixen, my boudoir company. That in itself was a huge financial commitment, so the thought of asking someone to come and depend on me for their financial income was more than frightening. But I knew I could not live without either anymore. I needed both the studio and the assistant and I decided to go for it… no turning back. I knew in my heart it was what God wanted me to do so I trusted him. Exactly a year ago I made one of the scariest decisions of my life… but also one of the greatest.

The next scary part was once I had put the word out I was looking for someone, how was I ever going to KNOW who was the right gal for the job? SCA—RY. I received tons of applications and interviewed a few. But there was one that definitely stood out in my mind and heart… her name was Deirdre. She was actually one of my brides, who had only been married a few weeks before. The thought of a past client AND newlywed wanting to work for me and relying on me for stability was almost too scary for me, but Deirdre impressed me more than once with everything she said and did to get the job. I knew she was exactly who I was looking for. My Louise. I went back and re-read my blog post for when I decided to hire someone and took this from it:

“Looking for: Someone who will also  become someone I consider my friend and not just my employee. The most important thing to  me is that I click with my assistant and that they dream big, see the  world with hope and have a very positive attitude on life.”

I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Deirdre fits that mold to a T. She is truly a GODSEND in my life. I could use the words blessed, thankful, happy, thrilled, etc over and over to describe how I feel by having her in my life, but it just wouldn’t be enough. She is not only an incredibly hard worker, incredibly smart, talented and all around amazing, but she is a great friend. She has helped me in more ways than one and I thank God every day that he sent her into my life. I am SO happy I listened to my heart when I chose Deirdre. She has exceeded my expectations and more and I am so very lucky to have her in my life and as a part of my business.

Deirdre, thank you for being not only my first, but the very BEST assistant a girl could ever hope for. I am so so so thankful for everything you do on a daily basis. You take care of me and my business better than I could have ever imagined and I’m truly lucky just to know you. : ) I look forward to sharing many more laughs and adventures with you.

We had dinner the other night & I thought it would be cute to imitate the photo from sex & the city that I posted in my first “Louise” post. Yes, we are dorks.
