I was so thrilled when Summer from Grey Likes Weddings emailed me to let me know she wanted to feature some of my images from the Vegas shoot on her blog. I am super proud to have my images shown on such a talented individual’s website. Thank you a million times over Summer – I am TRULY flattered. Check out the feature here.

Here is some other good news– she is selling the fascinator Anna wore in her shoot. It was one of the most beautiful hair pieces I have ever seen so if you want it be sure to go to her etsy store here to buy it before it’s gone!

If you missed the shoot you can see it HERE.

When Annah told me she was having her wedding at Dunleith Plantation in Natchez, Mississippi… I DIED and went to Heaven. I’ve shot another wedding there before and it quickly became one of my absolute favorite venues I’ve seen in the South. So when I knew I’d be able to shoot another wedding there again, I was ecstatic and thought it couldn’t get any better than that. Well, it did. After getting to know Annah and Travis over time and while shooting their engagement pictures, I grew even more excited about their big day. They are two of the sweetest and most genuine people you will ever meet. They have been such an easy couple to work with in every single way and have been completely up for anything and everything. Annah worked with me on timing her event so that we could get the perfect lighting and we got just that. The weather was incredible, the bride was stunning, the groom was excited and everything was as it should be. The day was just absolute perfection in every way and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Annah and Travis: Thank you, thank you, thank you for being YOU. Thank you for reminding me how incredibly blessed I am and for giving me the honor of documenting your love for one another. I heart you both in every way and look forward to watching you grow more in love together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Michael and I are so grateful for clients like you.

Below are just a few of my favorites from their incredible wedding.

I absolutely loved all of Annah’s details from the dress, shoes, accessories, garters, everything! It was the perfect vintage flow for the perfect old Southern feel of the day.

Her earrings were magnificent!

Chandeliers and cute flower girls? Yes please!

Annah had the idea of getting in the tub for a shot and I was in love!

dunleith021 dunleith022 dunleith024 dunleith025

I have to tell you about this moment. Annah used several pieces of music from The Notebook’s musical score for the ceremony and I gotta say, it caught me waaaayyy off guard. The Notebook is one of my favorite movies and the music from it is to die for. I captured this shot of the bridesmaids getting teary eyed as they waited for Annah to come around the corner and by the time the crescendo of the song “On the Lake” was playing, a whirlwind of emotion snuck up on me and before I knew it I was fighting some hardcore tears! I felt myself about to lose it and I quickly had to tell myself, “Courtney, get a hold of yourself! You cannot look like a basket case in front of all these people!!” I have gotten teary eyed at other weddings before, but never like this! (Thanks a LOT Annah! ; ) I truly felt like I was in a movie at that very moment and couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be a part of such an incredible day. It was a moment I will never forget.

dunleith026

Annah made her way around with her father in a carriage which couldn’t have been more appropriate.

The next two images I absolutely adore in every way. Before they saw Annah:

Love this as they prepare to make their exit.

dunleith039

Michael got this one and there is something I just really like about it.

dunleith040

If this isn’t the perfect vision of a Southern wedding, I don’t know what is.

dunleith041 dunleith042

Such a fabulous couple in every way.

Annah surprised Travis with a boudoir album right before they made their entrance into the reception. He, of course, was thrilled.

dunleith049

Right here he is thinking, “I am the luckiest man alive!” Right Annah? ; )

I took Annah’s bridal pictures a few months back but had to keep them hidden until after the wedding. Below are a few of my favorites for you to check out. I’m going to keep this post really short because I am saving my breath for their huge post I am working on right now to blog tomorrow of their wedding pictures. Be sure to come back then… You won’t want to miss seeing a glimpse of their gorgeous wedding at my favorite Southern wedding venue.

While I was in Las Vegas last week, I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with Victor Sizemore – an amazing photographer in California. We headed out about 30 minutes outside of Vegas to the middle of nowhere in the desert. The shoot was completely styled by Summer of Grey Likes Weddings who is not only extremely talented, but one of the sweetest people I have met! Even though it was faaaareeeezing out there, the shoot was so much fun and Anna completely rocked it. I was so excited to be a part of this collaboration and love how the images turned out. Below are a few of my favorites.

I made it back from an amazing week in Vegas and hit the ground running with a photo shoot on Friday and then wedding yesterday. It’s finally Sunday and I can now breathe and soak it all in. My trip to Las Vegas this past week was nothing short of a blast. As soon as my flight landed and I got to my hotel, changed and headed out the door to one of the best parties I have ever been too. I loved it because even though it was packed, I felt like we were one big family having a great time. We all had one thing in common and that was that we are all passionate about photography and I think that made the mood of the night extraordinary! It was the perfect kick off to an amazing week that is designed solely for photographers all over the world. If I am not mistaken 15,000 photographers were at WPPI this year! Below are a few photos from my week spent in Vegas to give you a very tiny glimpse into my adventures while I was there.

I shot this with my point and shoot the first night in Vegas:

One of my favorite peeps, Marin Kristine was my roomie for the trip and when I got there she had this AMAZING gift waiting for me! She had my chandelier and the word “vixen” made into this necklace! How flippin’ cool are my friends!? Ahh, I am such a lucky girl. : ) The other picture we took in the photobooth at the party.

Hanging out with two people I ADORE, Weston and Marissa Boucher of The Boudoir Divas. It was so great seeing old friends!!!

Marin snapped this of me as we headed to see Le Reve.

lasvegas02The morning I left Vegas and went home sweet home. It was an amazing trip and I look forward to next year!

Lawrence and I go waaaaayy back… like back when I was a nerdy teenager. We were both involved in a high school homeschool program. (Yes, I was homeschooled, don’t hate yo.) We became friends quickly and even as a youngin’ I knew Lawrence (or Rance as we all call him) was special… different. I could not have been more right. He has been one of those people that have not only been a true friend in my life, but an inspiration to me on a constant basis. He is one of the most talented musicians and songwriters I have ever had the privilege of knowing and I am so lucky to have him as a friend. After knowing him for about 13 years now I have watched him grow into the man God has always intended him to be and now his story gets even better because next Friday we will marry his true love: Danielle. I could not possibly be happier for them both as I know they are so happy to have found each other. I am honored I am able to play a small role in documenting their story and I look forward to watching this amazing couple grow together in love.

Lawrence just released his first album on iTunes. If you are looking for some incredibly passionate music and lyrics towards God, check out his album because it is AMAZING! I am so incredibly proud of him for pursuing his dreams and using the amazing talents God has given him. One day when he is famous I will be able to say, “Hey! I knew him!” Check out his website here to download the album, Free The Humans. — seriously, go buy it. Now. Do it.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement shoot.

I love you Danielle and Rance!!

To end this post I leave you with a very old photo I had to dig up that I took when I was 14 of Rance and Michael (yep, that my Mikey!) goofing off waaaay back in 1997. Look how cute they were! I totally had a crush on Michael then and he sooo didn’t even know it. Okay, maybe he did know it but I’d be willing to bet he liked it and had a little one on me too!

Well if you haven’t already figured it out by my tweets, I am in Las Vegas this week for WPPI and absolutely loving every minute of it. WPPI is a huge trade show that happens every year in Vegas for photographers. People from all over the world come to it and I’m so excited I was able to be a part of it this year. The trade show has been awesome so far and I’ve found tons of vendors in the wedding industry that I can’t wait to incorporate into my business. I’ve had a blast hanging out with old friends and making news ones and the only thing that would make this trip better is if Mikey was here with me. Someone had to stay home and hold down the fort though!

My friend and I went to see Le Reve last night and it was absolutely beautiful and inspiring in every way! Here are a couple pictures I snapped.
