Happy Friday everyone!! I’m a little behind on my blogging but I finally made it to my desk to make it happen today! I hope you’re all having an amazing day and getting pumped about the weekend! Below are a few of my favorites from Chris and Rachel’s wedding that took place in Louisiana. They are an incredibly friendly and lovable couple -I was honored to play a part in their special day. Rachel had a boudoir shoot done for Chris before the wedding and he made sure to tell me how much he truly loved the album he received the night before their wedding. So brides, keep in mind that a boudoir shoot makes for a great wedding gift for your husband. ; )

Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend everyone!

This was Rachel’s expression the ENTIRE ceremony. I love how much she smiles, it’s truly contagious.

Their love for one another was truly evident.

Rachel bought her hairpiece from Lauren with LoBoheme. She is a fabulously talented hairpiece designer and has done work for me in the past. Check out her stuff if you’re considering having one as an accessory!

I’ve been photographing Blakeleigh since she was 3 months old. (You can see some of her pictures on my website or on my old blog.)I’m by no means a children’s photographer, but it’s pretty much a definite thing that I will be taking her pictures throughout the rest of her life… at least through the wedding!:)She is my cousin’s daughter and one of the most beautiful children I have ever seen! Blakeleigh has always been a challenge to photograph because she has a LOT of personality and sometimes can be quite sassy! However, she is starting to grow up and get easier and easier – although still not a piece of cake! ; ) Yesterday’s shoot was the best yet and I had a VERY difficult time picking out my favorites for the blog.

I found some cool grungy locations out in the old parts of town.

We told her to show us her “kissy face”. haha!

Mikey came to protect us and also keep 3 year olds from running away from their shoot! hehe.

I’m IN LOVE with this one. I think it’s probably my favorite.

Lots of traveling coming up and I want you to know about it! It all starts with a wedding in Virginia the first weekend of August, then a flight directly to Southern California, then we will be in Chicago for Labor Day weekend! If you live in or near one of these areas and are interested in a photoshoot, please email me! I’d love to get to know you!

On Sunday Michael and I had the opportunity to have a booth at The Perfect Wedding Guide’s bridal show to display our work. We put so much into it and I’m super proud of the result of our team efforts. I came up with the concept and Michael built me the wall that hung the pictures, as well as the coffee table! He is a man of many talents!! I couldn’t have done it without all of his help.

We had a lot of fun and met several amazing brides and vendors! Here are a few photos of how our booth turned out:

I shot Josh and Ada’s wedding in 2007 and was super excited when Josh contacted me to let me know he wanted to surprise Ada with a couple’s photoshoot for her birthday! Awww! Guys, I personally can’t think of a better gift to get your significant other. (wink wink) He planned a romantic weekend getaway for the two of them in New Orleans and while they were there I came out and met them for the shoot. Out of nowhere, it started POURING just as soon as we were about to start shooting. GRRR!!! We waited it out for a bit and it finally eased up enough to shoot underneath balconies (thank goodness for the New Orleans architecture!). Ada and Josh were such troopers throughout the whole thing and I discovered that I can shoot and hold an umbrella at the same time! It was quite a challenge but we still had so much fun and here are a few of my favorites—

It’s not 100% completely done yet, but it’s a start and I’m super proud to say that www.dellafioraboudoir.com is finally online! If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know that Boudoir is something I am super passionate about and is a huge part of my business and dreams! I hope you all enjoy the site!

Next up: the boudoir blog! It should hopefully be online within the next month or so. Fingers crossed!

Can I tell you how excited I got when Julia told me she absolutely wanted to do a trash the gown shoot?! Pretty darn excited. She was clever enough to buy a cheap wedding gown that was an imitation of her original for the shoot. So for all you ladies who are nervous about “trashing” your wedding gown, buy a cheap one! It’s a great idea and will give you the opportunity to get some amazing photos.

We had so much fun with this shoot… and when I say they were up for anything, I mean anything. You’ll see what I mean towards the end. Mikey and I went exploring in Negril, Jamaica the day before the shoot to scope out some sweet spots and I love what we found.

We woke up to start shooting around 6:00am because the sun rises early in Jamaica!

Gosh, they are beautiful!

We found this super cool resort/restaurant called Xtabi that apparently had a cave underneath it! We asked if they would let us use it for our shoot- we were pumped when they said yes. Definitely one of the coolest places I’ve ever shot.

Decided to take a ring shot while I was in there. Why not right?

destination_wedding_photographer0089

So these next two shots were all Mikey’s idea. He is so creative!

Rick’s Cafe is one of the famous hot spots in Jamaica. The owners were SO nice to let us in HOURS before they opened so Julia and Vas could jump off the cliff into the Caribbean. (I told you they were adventurous!!) Mikey, Vas, Julia and I along with the entire wedding party came back later that day when they were open and had a BLAST. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip and Mikey keeps telling me how ready he is to go back and hang out at Rick’s again!

I LOVE THIS!! Julia, I’m so proud of you! I seriously have the coolest couples in the world. Mikey took it from this angle…

This is the very last shot taken of Julia and Vas right after they jumped and it happens to be one of my absolute favorites…

destination_wedding_photographer0099Vas & Julia- you guys are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We had so much fun with you both and feel like we have made new friends for life. Thank you SO much for everything. Michael and I wish you both all of the happiness in the world. XOXO, M&C
