This past August we had the opportunity to photograph Jonathan and Allison’s wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. One of my absolute favorite things about destination weddings is how intimate and relaxed they are. It’s like one big family getting together and sharing a beautiful moment with the people they love. Another thing I love… I always immediately feel like one of the family – from the day we arrive to the day we leave. Allison and Jonathan were no exception of this. They were completely hospitable and caring of our needs from the moment we got to the resort. We had a complete and total blast with them and all of their friends and family. It was my first time to go to Mexico and I definitely fell in love. The people, the weather and the romantic feel in the air was enough to win my heart over. I look forward to visiting again as soon as possible!

Allison and Jonathan, thank you so much for being so wonderful in every way. I will always and forever cherish being a part of your wedding and festivities. I hope to see you again soon!! xoxo

The chapel on the resort at El Dorado Royale was so flippin’ cute. I loved it.

Love this shot Deirdre captured of Allison with her father right before she walked down the aisle.

Married!!

One of the perks of having a smaller intimate wedding is that you can get a photo with all of your guests!!

Such a lovely couple.

The Mexican light was HEAVENLY.

Love this:

Deirdre captured the next 2 shots and I LOVE them.

As the night went on, LOTS of fun was had under the Mexican sky.

Stay tuned for their Trash the Dress shoot coming up next!!

Ah, love. : ) It’s all around me – and I feel like the luckiest girl alive. Everyday I wake up and think to myself, “I cannot believe I am this blessed!” I truly feel overwhelmed with happiness after spending time with every one of my couples. They have no idea how much they all inspire me. And Emily and Chris are just yet another example of WHY I always feel that way. I seriously have the most amazing clients in the whole wide world. I really have no clue how I get this lucky…. but I am so grateful to God every day for sending each and every one of them into my life.

Chris and Emily — thank you, from the deepest part of my heart, for inviting me into your lives. I am eternally grateful to be a part of YOUR love story. : ) xoxo

It was the most perfect day for the most perfect pair!

Siiigh, such a pretty couple!

We asked their dog Bear if he was down to be a part of the shoot… he was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Emily… you. are. BEAUTIFUL.

So a little while ago, this amazing woman named Lydia Shannon contacted me to tell me all about this incredible thing she is doing. She put together an auction named “F Stop Breast Cancer” for photographer’s to help raise money to donate to the The Breast Cancer Research foundation to help find a cure for breast cancer. I was so blown away by not only all of the time and effort Lydia has put into making this happen, but that she would ask little ‘ol ME to participate in such a noble cause. I am completely honored to be listed along side so many wonderful and extremely talented photographer’s in this industry who are also participating.

So what exactly is being you auctioned you ask? A 60 minute mentor session via phone or video chat. If you’re a photographer who is looking for some advice in photography, growing your business or just want to say HEY HEY to some amazing photographers out there… then this is the perfect opportunity for you to do so… AND your money would be going to an AMAZING cause! There are also tons of products being auctioned off as well. To see a list of all the photographers donating their time for these mentor sessions, please go to www.fstopbreastcancer.com for a complete list of the 50 photographers participating… including YOURS TRULY!!

Lydia is trying to raise $10,000 by Oct 24, 2010 to donate to the foundation. The auction will run Thursday, October 14th – Tuesday, October 19th on EBAY. You can view a little promo video that Lydia put together on the F Stop Breast Cancer website or by clicking here.

I will be posting the link for the auction once it goes live on October 14th.

I am SO excited about this amazing idea that Lydia came up with. She is so inspiring to all of us!! I am just so truly honored and flattered to be a part of it and I hope you’ll participate!! F STOP BREAST CANCER!

It’s a BEAUTIFUL day and I am completely about to go take advantage of it but I wanted to post this wedding first! Gina and Kevin were married this past July in New Orleans at St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square right in the middle of the French Quarter. It poured that day but neither one of them let it “rain on their parade”. The beautiful bride remained completely calm and peaceful as she prepared to see her groom and take their first steps into wedded bliss. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was nothing short of a celebration. I am certain these two will remember this day for the rest of their lives and I hope they cherish the photos we captured forever!

Thanks Gina and Kevin for inviting me into your lives and allowing me to photograph your memories. xoxo

If you missed Gina’s bridal post I did the other day, see it here. I said it then and I will say it again… Gina’s dress was to die for!!

This next shot is my absolute favorite from the day… and I didn’t even take it! : ) Michael captured this moment of Gina with her bridesmaids and father right before she was about to enter the church. I am in LOVE with it. It’s raw, candid, un-posed and truly in the moment. It’s one of those images that takes my breath away.

He also captured this beautiful photo of Gina as well.

I am SO happy to be back to my regular blogging again!! It feels so great! I’m determined to get completely caught up on blogging shoots and weddings before next Saturday which is when wedding season starts up for me again. Even if I have to blog overtime to squeeze everything in… it will happen! Today I am bringing you yet another one of my incredibly lovable clients… Hannah and Garrett. Here is a cool little story…  I actually took Hannah’s high school senior portaits WAAAAY back in like 2003 or 2004 sometime.  And now here I am photographing her engagement photos, and soon her wedding!! I love that! I am so so so proud to be able to document different times in people’s lives that mean so much to them and know that they will forever cherish their photos. In a way, I get to leave my mark on their lives in a small way and I feel SO INCREDIBLY BLESSED and HONORED to be given that opportunity.

Thank you Hannah and Garrett … for trusting me with this amazing privilege of capturing your love for one another. I can’t wait for the big day and I am so proud to be your photographer.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from their shoot.
