I love engagement shoots. They are such a fun and relaxed way to interact and get to know my amazing clients. There are always so many laughs and beautiful memories from these shoots. I cherish each one of them so much. Emily and Scott are getting married in the heart of New Orleans next Spring. So it was only appropriate that we meet there for their engagement shoot. It was a GOOOOOORGeous day in the French Quarter. Just the right amount of sunshine and character filled the city… and even though there were so many people around, Emily and Scott were locked into their own world of smiles, warmth and love. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session!
Emily and Scott: Cannot wait for the big day!!! It was so nice getting to spend some time with you both and I can’t wait to do it again. ; ) xo

I absolutely LOVE Tiffany and Michael’s personalities. They are so cute in every way. Michael is a total goofball and Tiffany’s laid back approach to life completely compliments his humorous personality in every way. You may remember them from their engagement shoot I shot in the French Quarter. It was so much fun getting to know them that day. When the wedding day finally arrived, it was like we were all best friends. I love that. Throughout the wedding day, I would recommend little things to do, and Tiffany would respond each time with, “I trust you Courtney! Whatever you say.” — AWESOMENESS. That is the best thing you can do on your wedding day! Trust your vendors! Let them do their jobs, it’s why you hired us. : ) Tiffany literally didn’t stress about one thing, and because of it, I know she truly had the time of her life on her wedding day. Everything was perfect and Deirdre and I had such an awesome time documenting this extremely memorable day in New Orleans for this extremely beautiful couple.
Michael and Tiffany — thank you thank you… for everything. But mostly, for trusting me. It means more than you will ever know. I hope you will cherish these memories forever. xo

I LOOOOVED Tiffany’s Romona Keveza lace dress and sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes. Perfect.

The dress fit her perfectly.

The couple opted for a “First Look” before the wedding. BEST DECISION EVER. After all of the photos, and we were heading to the ceremony location, Tiffany told me she was SO SO thankful I had recommended the First Look. She absolutely loved every minute of it.

There are SO many great reasons for doing a First Look. A really great one is that we are able to get all of the bridal party photos out of the way. Which means, everyone gets to the reception that much sooner after the wedding!

Wedding time! Love this shot Deirdre got from behind.

So, Tiffany might just kill me for posting the following photo. But I will tell you why I am posting it… Some of my potential clients express concerns that if they do a First Look, they are afraid it will take away from the emotion of the moment when walking down the aisle. I am posting this photo to prove that is definitely not the case. Even though Tiffany and Michael had seen each other already, Tiffany got emotional and teary eyed as she walked down the aisle. It was a beautiful moment.

After the beautiful and traditional Catholic ceremony, we headed to the reception where the newlyweds entered excited and ready to celebrate!

Love when brides aren’t afraid to have a good time!

The End to a fabulous night!!
HELLO FALL!! Have I mentioned how much I am loving this weather!? YESSS. I love fall. I am so happy I can finally shoot outdoors again without melting. This is my faaaaavorite time of the year. Mmmm. : ) Speaking of shooting outdoors…
Meet Lindsay and Coby – fate would have them meet a little over 3 years ago on Lindsay’s birthday. I’d be willing to bet this was Lindsay’s best birthday ever… as she met her soulmate, Coby. What a great birthday gift! Coby (like most guys), isn’t the biggest fan of being in front of the camera. An engagement shoot is the perfect way for guys to get comfortable with being photographed. That way come the wedding day, they know what to expect. Coby started off hesitant about photos, but after the first few shots, he had already warmed up to me and the shoot ended up being fun for him and Lindsay – and they both rocked it. The two of them are planning to wed shortly after Valentine’s Day next year and I am so thrilled and excited to be a part of their day. Can’t wait!!

I shot Christina’s wedding this past weekend so I thought it was definitely time to share her bridal shoot!! We did them at one of my faaaaaaavorite Southern venues: Nottoway Plantation! I am in love with this location. Everything about it is absolute perfection. Such a dream spot!!
Enjoy! Her wedding photos coming soon!

The next morning after Courtney and Chris’ wedding, we shot their Trash the Dress photos. This is always something really fun to do especially if you’re doing a destination wedding. I absolutely LOVE the photos I got. Aruba provided a beautiful backdrop and I mean HELLO HOTNESS with this couple!! Enjoy!
See their wedding images here.

Love love love a million times over.

It was an absolute joy and honor to be a part of Courtney and Chris’ wedding in Aruba. I had never been to this tiny island before and was so excited to see it!! Aruba has the prettiest aqua blue water I have ever seen. It was amazingly beautiful. I love small, intimate weddings so much. There is truly something so so special about having just your family and bestest of friends with you. The memories from the day are something the couple will never ever forget as long as they live. These two doctors found each other at medical school several years ago and the rest is pretty much history. ; ) (Love it when doctors fall in love, so cute!) They were both so kind to Deirdre and I in the entire wedding planning process, up until the day of the wedding. We truly enjoyed getting to know them and sharing in their wedded bliss. Hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their memorable day.
Courtney and Christopher – thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding. I hope you love and cherish not only the photos, but each other… forever. xo
So I thought their invitations were truly SUCH a great idea for a destination wedding… a boarding pass!! Genius.

LOVED her mermaid dress.

Since they were having a sunset ceremony, they opted to do a First Look beforehand which I always love love love.

After spending some time doing some portraits, it was time for the big moment!

Loved the simplicity of the ceremony location.

Love.

As the ceremony ended, they had all of their guests join them at the beach to throw stones into the Caribbean as they each made a wish.

Love this photo… everyone who flew in and attended their wedding. Their friends and family came from all over. Chris’ parent’s are even from Trinidad which is why they chose to have their wedding in Aruba as a meeting place. So cool.

One of my favorites from the day:

First dance:

The couple laughing as their friends gave toasts.

The evening ended with everyone dancing the Aruban night away and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Coming up next: Courtney and Christopher’s Trash the Dress shoot!
