Cara + Nathan :: Wedding (Houmas House Plantation)

Cara and Nathan are just plain AWESOME. You may remember them from their engagement shoot we did in the country. (if you need a reminder, click here) They have been so completely wonderful to work with from day one. They are both smart, kind, thoughtful and just RAD. The wedding day was absolute perfection. Shot at the beautiful Houmas House Plantation,  the weather was amazing, and the bride and groom were overjoyed. From the moment I started shooting, until I packed my camera away that night, I enjoyed every moment. I say this all the time, but I am in LOVE with my clients and the huge honor of shooting their weddings. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard hard work being a wedding photographer. (A lot of people have a misconception that it’s easy. Nothing could be farther from the truth.) But I LOVE it. I love being a part of people’s love stories and it’s a huge thrill to spend time with them on the biggest day of their life. My heart is always so full when I am driving home from a wedding. And Cara and Nathan’s wedding was no exception of this. They made me feel a part of the family. I felt special and honored. And I just adore these two. I love being around people who are genuinely kind and loving. I am so grateful I could be a part of their special moments.

Cara and Nathan: A million times over, THANK YOU. : ) You are both so lovely… never stop being amazing. Never stop loving each other. xo

The beautiful bride and her mother preparing for the best day of Cara’s life!

One of my favorite things about Houmas House is how much they cater to the groom and groomsmen. They have this special little bar or “mancave” just for the guys to hang out together while the girls finish pampering themselves. I love that.

Cara and Nathan decided to do the First Look. A First Look creates a private, intimate moment between the bride and groom before all the hustle and bustle of the big day. Ask ANY BRIDE… they will all tell you how quickly the actual wedding day passes by. You won’t remember most of it because it goes by SO FAST. A First Look is one of the best decisions you could make because you will be able to have a beautiful, calm moment together that you can cherish and remember forever. Otherwise you most likely won’t have a time alone together the whole day.

LOVE.

During the FL, it’s a great time for the couple to exchange gifts between each other. Cara surprised Nate with a boudoir shoot she had done at my studio The Boudoir Vixen earlier this year. He was thrilled DUH!

Love this shot D captured of Cara and her father getting ready to make their way down the aisle.

Cara and Nathan surprised their guests with a choreographed dance. And they completely rocked it.

Air guitar?! YES PLEASE. This is why I love my clients.

And this right here scored Nate and Cara about 23,126 points in my book:

The End… of the beautiful beginning.
