I always enjoy seeing your photos. It amazes me the beauty that you find in everyday things. You do so well at capturing the uniqueness in everything you see thru your lens! Pure magnificance (sp?)ReplyCancel

Last Sunday I went to my studio. (The Boudoir Vixen) I wanted to be there alone… no clients and no staff. I sat down in one of the rooms and didn’t move for several minutes. I took a deep breath and looked around. I soaked in every inch of it. I thought of how far it has come in the two years I’ve had it. I thought about how much work, money and time I have given it. I started to tear up with an overwhelming sense of pride. Sometimes I still can’t believe it. All I have accomplished on my own and everything that I have made happen for myself. I feel so proud of myself. By no means have I “arrived” or anything remotely close to it. But what I have accomplished in just a few years has made me so damn proud. The best part about it is that I did it all on my own. No financial help from parents, banks or friends. I just saved my money, worked my butt off and made it happen. And that makes it all worth it so much more. It’s so much more precious and beautiful because I didn’t give up. I believed in myself and I did it. If I can do this, I can do anything! I still have so many dreams, so many goals, so many ideas, so many things to make happen. But one step at a time, I will get there.

I’m going places. I’m going to make my dreams come true. I’m going to keep working hard, never stopping. No matter what comes my way, I will never give up. There is so much life to live. So many things to see, do and accomplish.

I love my little studio and I am so proud of myself. If I can do this, you can do anything.

The best is yet to come.

You know those people who come into your life, and you know you’ll be friends forever? I have been lucky enough to know my friend Lawrence since I was 14 years old. We have been through many ups and downs in life and it’s been an honor to “grow up” with him. Lawrence is super special and I have known that about him from day one. He not only possesses a beautiful heart, but he is so full of life, passion and so much talent. I am so incredibly grateful for his inspiration and genuine friendship. It’s hard to find friends like him.

Lawrence is an INCREDIBLE musician, songwriter and teacher. I’m not just saying that because he is my friend and I have to. I kid you not, this person is SO GIFTED. Sometimes, I cannot even believe I am friends with such talent. His heart and soul is truly portrayed through his music. I cannot tell you how many times his songs have given me goosebumps. Amazing. I am so proud of him for the man he has become and the true artist he is. SO PROUD. So honored.

You can check out his latest album, Free the Humans on iTunes by clicking here.

He and his wife are also piano teachers. You can check out their website here. If you are looking for a teacher for yourself or your child, they are FABULOUS.

Lawrence, thank you for being my real friend through thick and thin. Words could never express how much I value your friendship. Keep doing what you are doing. Stay true to your heart. No matter what storms come, there is always a rainbow waiting at the other end. Friends forever.

I have a talented friend as well. Her name is Courtney. My wife and I love her very much. She is skilled in the art of photography and commitment. I’ve known Courtney since I was 13 years old. It’s the oldest remaining friendship I have. I value this woman very much for exactly who she is. Courtney, you are such an inspiration to my wife and I. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for you in the coming years. Friends Eternal.ReplyCancel

Dear California:

You are so lovely. I fall in love with you every time I visit you. From the moment we first met when I was 16, you have strongly held a piece of my heart. Thank you for being so good to me. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for making me so happy. I miss you when we are apart. But I will see you again real soon.

Cali girl at heart.

Dear Little Meow-Meow:

What would I do without you?
There would be no one to walk up and down the street saying “meow” to strangers with.
There would be no one to lay in the grass and count the stars with.
There would be no one to try and shake our bootys like those girls in rap videos do with.
There would be no one to laugh until we cry with.
There would be no one to discuss unicorns and rainbows with.
There would be no one to complain about Louisiana heat and traffic with.
There would be no one to complete my Mad Gab phrase with. (you complete meeeeee!)
There would be no one to do spin class with. (ugh!)
There would be no one to tell secrets with.
There would be no US. ew.

I am so grateful you came into my life. I am so grateful God created a thing called kindred spirits. I am so grateful he made us friends!! I don’t know what I’d do without you my little meow. Thank you for being my best friend. I love you!

I will now leave you with a little song you once sang to me. ; ) rawr.
